CASTIGLIONE DELLE STIVIERE - pomiedzy Jeziorem Garda a Mantova - between Lake Garda and Mantova

Castiglione delle Stiviere (Lombardia) - to liczace okolo 30 tysiecy miasto oddalone jest zaledwie o kilka kilometrow od Jeziora Garda jadac w kierunku Mantova. Choc miasto to lezy w poblizu tego tak pieknego jeziora to zdecydowanie rozni sie od turystycznych miejscowosci i osoby szukajace tutaj atracji turystycznych niestety niczego dla siebie nie znajda. Miasto w latach 50-tych przezywalo swoj rozwoj gospodarczy i do dzis dnia uwazane jest za jedno z wazniejszych przemyslowo miast regionu. Obrzeza miasta pelne sa fabryk i firm, ktore niestety uroku nie dodaja...

Centralne ulice miasta pozostawiaja wiele do zyczenia...Zabudowa typowa dla regionu Lombardii, choc bez barw, bez renowacji, obdrapane... 

Castiglione delle Stiviere (Lombardia) - with a population of about 30 thousand people the city is only a few kilometers from Lake Garda, driving towards Mantova. This city is located near the beautiful lake Garda, but not so many tourists come here unfortunately. The city in the 50's had its economic development, and today it is considered to be one of the most important industrial cities of the region. Outskirts of the city are full of factories and companies, which unfortunately does not add charm ...

The central streets of the city leaves much to be desired ... The typical architecture of Lombardy region, though without color, without renovation, shabby ...

W cetralnej czesci miasta znajduje sie Piazza San Luigi, a przy nim Chiesa San Luigi - glowny kosciol w Castiglione delle Stiviere. 

In the central part of the town is located Piazza San Luigi, and the San Luigi church - the main church in Castiglione delle Stiviere.

Idac ku gorze od strony Placu dochodzimy do Castello, w ktorym dzis znajduje sie oratorio i kilka parafialnych biur i stowarzyszen. Z gory podziwiac tez mozna panorame miasta. 

Going towards the top of the town there is Castello Square, in which today is located the oratorio and several parish offices and associations. On the top you can also admire the panorama of the town.

A na koniec zamieszczam jeszcze zdjecia domku, ktory bardzo mi sie spodobal. Przypomina troche domek rodem z filow grozy czy Rodziny Adamsow, ale jest naprawde ciekawy architektonicznie. 

And at the end I put more pictures of cottages, which I really liked. It look likes to a house of horror cause the profiles from the Addams Family, but it is a really interesting architecture.

CASTELNUOVO DON BOSCO - miasto swietych - the holy town

Castelnuovo Don Bosco (Piemont) - to niewielkie miasteczko, liczace dzis niespelna 4 tysiace mieszkancow, swoja slawe zawdziecza glownie pieknemu polozeniu wsrod zielonych wzgorz porosnietych winnicami i uprawie wina. 

Castelnuovo Don Bosco (Piedmont) - it is a small town, with a population of less than four thousand people. It is in a beautiful position among green hills covered with vineyards and wine growing.

Rowniez najstarsza czesc miasteczka polozona jest na jednym z wzgorz, dzieki czemu jest ono idealnie widoczne z kazdej czesci okolicy. 

The oldest part of town is sited on a hill, so that it is perfectly visible from every part of the area.

W ostatnich latach w okolicy powstaje coraz wiecej nowych domow i nowych osiedli i nie ma sie temu co dziwic - mieszkac wsrod zielonych wzgorz i piekna przyrody...cos pieknego:-) 

Recently in this area grew up more and more new houses and new settlements where people live among green hills and a beautiful nature ... something lovely :-)

Miasteczko, oprocz produkcji wina i pieknego poloznia, znane jest w swiecie rowniez ze wzgledu na dwie wielkie postacie. Jak napisalam w tytule jest to "miasto swietych". Pierwszym z nich jest swiety Jan Bosco, ktory urodzil sie we frakcji Becchi (dzis Colle Don Bosco) nalezacej do miasteczka. Na uwage zasluguje rowniez fakt, ze dawniej miasteczko nazywalo sie Castelnuovo d'Asti, a nastepnie zmieniono jego nazwe na Castelnuovo Don Bosco wlasnie ze wzgledu na tego wielkiego swietego. Dzis w sasiedztwie domu rodzinnego Ojca Bosco znajduje sie potezna swiatynia wzniesiona w latach 1961 - 1984 poswiecona swietemu. 

The town, besides the production of wine and a beautiful nature, it is known in the world also for two great figures. As I wrote in the title it is the "holy town". The first is St. Giovanni Bosco, who was born in Becchi fraction (now Colle Don Bosco), belonging to the town. Noteworthy is also the fact that the town formerly called Castelnuovo d'Asti, then changed its name to Castelnuovo Don Bosco just because of the great holy man. Today in this place there is a massive temple built in the years 1961 - 1984 dedicated to the Saint.

Inna znana postacia zwiazana z miasteczkiem jest swiety Dominik Savio, ktory jako maly chlopiec przeprowadzil sie w te okolice wraz z rodzicami z pobliskiej Riva presso Chieri i spedzil tutaj ostatnie lata swojego krotkiego zycia (zmarl w wieku zaledwie 15 lat).

Jak widac w Castelnuovo Don Bosco kazdy znajdzie cos dla siebie - poczawszy od kosciola i swietych, poprzez ciekawa starowke a na dobrym winie i pieknej okolicy konczac :-)

Another well-known figure affiliated with the town is St. Domenico Savio, who - when he was a child - movede to this place with his parents from the nearby Riva presso Chieri and here he spent the last years of his short life (he died at the age of 15 years old).

As you can see in Castelnuovo Don Bosco everyone will find something - starting with the church and the saints, then an interesting old town and a good wine and beautiful area  :-)

SUSA - pod francuska granica - near the French border

Susa (Piemont) - to niewielkie, bo liczace niespelna 8 tysiecy mieszkancow miasto, odwiedzane jest przez wielu turystow ze wzgledu na swoje atrakcyjne polozenie. Jest ono glownym miastem tzw. Val di Susa (Dolina Susy), ktora rozciaga sie na zachod od Turynu az do granicy z Francja. Podroz z Turynu do Susy zajmuje okolo 45 minut, ale naprawde warto wybrac sie w odwiedziny do tego uroczego miasta.

Oczywiscie podobnie jak w wiekszosci miast, rowniez i tutaj na nasza uwage zasluguje przede wszystkim centrum z uroczymi, waskimi i kretymi uliczkami, z niewielkimi placami przy ktorych mozna napic sie kawy w jednym z barow i zabytkowymi kosciolami.

Glowna ulica miasta jest Via Roma, przy ktorej, oprocz kilku urzedow i instytucji, znajduja sie rowniez kolorowe kamienice, niewielkie sklepiki i kawiarenki. 

Susa (Piedmont) - Its is a small town because the population is under eight thousand inhabitants. The town is visited by many tourists because its attractive location. It is the main town in Val di Susa (Susa Valley), which stretches to the west of Turin and near the border with France. Travelling from Turin to Susa takes about 45 minutes, and it worths to visit this charming city.

Of course, as in most cities in this area, especially in the charming center, there are narrow winding streets with small squares where you can taste some good coffee in one of the bars, while admire some historic church.

 
The main street is Via Roma where, among many buildingfs, there are also some colorful houses, small shops and cafes.

Najbardziej urodziwym placem w Susa jest, moim zdaniem, Piazza IV Novembre, polozony nad brzegiem rzeki Dora i w poblizu Via Roma. 

The most handsome square in Susa, in my opinion, is Piazza IV Novembre, located on the banks of River Dora and close to Via Roma.

W centrum jest tez kilka uroczych kosciolow, z ktorych te najbaradziej znane to Chiesa di San Francesco i Catedrale, przy ktorej znajduje sie Porta Savoia. 

In the center there are also some lovely churches, and in particular way there is the Chiesa di San Francesco and Cathedral, near the Porta Savoia.

A tak z ciekawostek, to Susa wraz z cala Dolina Susy stala sie ostatnio "slawna" w Europie ze wzgledu na liczne protesty przeciwko TAV (TAV - treni alta velocità, czyli tzw. szybka kolej). Mieszkancy regionu uwazaja, ze budowany tunel i kolej zniszcza srodowisko naturalne i nawet nie zamierzaja sluchac o zaletach szybkiego polaczenia Turynu z Lionem we Francji. Francuzi juz sa gotowi do budwy, a Wlosi...No coz, najpierw trzeba pokojowo "zrobic porzadek" z protestantami (czesto pseudo obroncami natury, ktorzy protestuja tylko dlatego ze "cos sie dzieje"), a nastepnie przsytapic do pracy. Jak bedzie...czas pokaze...

A curiosity: the whole Susa Valley recently became a "celebrity" in Europe due to a number of protests against the TAV (TAV - treni Alta Velocità - fast trains). Residents in this area believe that the constructed tunnel and railway will destroy the natural environment and do not even intend to hear about the benefits of high-speed connection of Turin with Lion in France. Often pseudo defenders of nature protest just because "something is happening". How will be... time will tell us ...

DESENZANO DEL GARDA - nad brzegiem Jeziora Garda - on the shores of Lake Garda

Desenzano del Garda (Lombardia) - to niezwykle urocze miasto, liczace okolo 30 tysiecy mieszkancow, polozone nad brzegiem Jeziora Garda, uwazanego przez wielu za najpiekniejsze jezioro we Wloszech. 

Desenzano del Garda (Lombardy) - it is a very charming town, with about 30 thousand inhabitants, situated on the shores of Lake Garda, regarded by people as the most beautiful lake in Italy.

Samo miasteczko urzeklo mnie od samego poczatku; jest czyste, zadbane, kolorowe...

Podzielic je mozna na dwie czesci - pierwsza to tzw. stare miasto, zas druga to dzielnice, w ktorej znajduja sie eleganckie wille, rezydencje, hotele i pensjonaty.

Serce starego miasta stanowi Piazza Malvezzi, przy ktorym znajduja sie urzedy, instytucje, eleganckie kawiarenki, sklepiki... 

The town is very clean, neat, colorful ...

The town can be divided into two parts - the first is called "old town", while in the other part of the town  there are elegant villas, apartments, hotels and pensions.

The heart of the old city is Piazza Malvezzi, with elegant cafes and shops ...

Od Placu odchodza liczne male uliczki biegnace raz ku gorze a raz w dol. Zadbane, kolorowe, ukwiecone, pelne niewielkich sklepikow, kawiarni, restauracji - idealne miejsce na spacery. 

From the main square, many small streets running upwards. Neat, colorful, flowery, full of small shops, cafes, restaurants - perfect for walking.

Pomiedzy Piazza Malvezzi a Piazza Duomo znajduje sie Porto Vecchio (stary port), przy ktorym znajduja sie piekne, stare kamienice, przypominajace troche te weneckie. 

Between Piazza Malvezzi and Piazza Duomo is located Porto Vecchio (the Old Port), with beautiful old houses, in Venetian style.

Takie jest stare miasto w Desenzano del Garda, ale rowniez i ta nowsza czesc posiada swoj niezwykly urok, a gdzie niegdzie pomiedzy hotelami "ukryte" sa bardzo eleganckie wille czy rezydencje... 

This is the old town of Desenzano del Garda, but also the new part has its unusual charm, and here and there among the hotels, there are very elegant "hidden" villas and mansions ...

BOSCONERO - kolejne z malych miasteczek - a little village near Turin

Bosconero (Piemont) - to niewielkie, bo liczace okolo 3 tysiecy mieszkancow miasteczko, polozone jest na polnoc od Turynu, pomiedzy Volpiano a Rivarolo Canavese. To kolejne z niewielkich miasteczek, ktore znalazlo sie na trasie naszego zwiedzania calkiem przypadkiem. Idealne miejsce do obserwowania zycia i codziennosci mieszkancow tego typu miejsc, ktorzy czesto sa juz w wielku emerytalnym i calymi dniami oddaja sie swoim pasjom (czyli np. granie w karty przy miejscowym barze, uprawianie ogrodka, czytanie ksiazek na ukwieconych balkonach itp). Posiada to swoj urok i nadaje miasteczku swoisty charakter:-)

Serce miasteczka stanowi Piazza Martiri della Libertà, przy ktorym znajduje sie kosciol parafialny, urzad miejski, oratorium, a okolo 100 metrow dalej rowniez i szkoly i miejscowy supermarket. 

Bosconero (Piedmont) - it is a small village because its population is about three thousand inhabitants. It is located to the north of Turin, between Volpiano and Rivarolo Canavese. This is the perfect place where to observe everyday life of people who live here, who often are already in retirement and all day long they live their passions (like playing cards at a local bar, doing the garden, reading books on flowering balconies, etc.). It has its own charm and gives the town a unique character :-)

Heart of the town is Piazza Martiri della Libertà, where is the parish church, the City Hall, the oratorio, and close to them there are also the school and the local supermarket.

Miasteczko, choc niewielkie i ospale swoj urok posiada i stanowi idealny przyklad niewielkich miejscowosci rozsianych po calej prowincji, a nie lezacych w bezposrednim sasiedztwie z Turynem. A tak na marginesie bosconero to w doslownym tlumaczeniu na jezyk polski brzmialoby czarnolas, tylko tego lasu w poblizu brak...:-)

The town is a perfect example of a small village scattered throughout the province, and not located in the immediate vicinity of Turin. And by the way Bosconero is the literal translation of "black forest", but near it there are not forest (at least today ... :-)
