Easter Sunday (Santa Domenica) is a day of joy for the Resurrection. In this day, family and friends are gathered together at a gala dinner (in Italy there is no tradition of Easter breakfast). The main dish on this day is the lamb meat. There is also a traditional Easter dessert called “colomba” (Easter dove). And of course they are receiving children chocolate eggs of all sizes, most of them have in the middle a hidden surprise!
Many Italians also spends their holidays away from home by organizing various trips and enjoying a few days off in thought saying "Natale con i Tuoi, Pasqua con chi vuoi", or Christmas with your family, Easter with who you want.
And about me, I wish you a beautiful and peaceful Easter, filled with love, peace and hope! Happy Easter!
