SUPERGA - bazylika na turynskim wzgorzu - the basilica at the top of Turin

Superga - to najwyzsze z turynkich wzgorz o wysokosci 672 m.n.p.m. Na wzgorzu tym wznosi sie jeden z symboli stolicy Piemontu - Basilica di Superga.

Historia tej swiatyni zwiazana jest z bitwa wlosko-francuska z 1706 roku. W dniu 2 wrzesnia 1706 roku Duca Vittorio Amadeo II wszedl na wzgorze Supergi, aby rozplanowac rozlozenie swoich wojsk, ktore mialy bronic miasta przed najazdem francuskim wojsk krola Ludwika XIV. The history of this temple is affiliated with the Italian-French battle of 1706. On 2 September 1706 Duke Vittorio Amadeo II built on the hill of Superga promised that if St. Mary saved the city of Turin by the French troops, he built a basilica in her honor. Na wzgorze dostac sie mozna autobusem badz specjalna turystyczna kolejka, ktora stanowi dla wielu prawdziwa turystyczna atrakcje.

Wzgorze Supergi posiada tez niestety bardzo smutna historie...Dnia 4 maja 1949 na tylach swiatyni rozbil sie samolot, na pokladzie ktorego znajdowala sie cala druzyna Grande Torino - najlepszej w tamtych czasach druzyny pilkarskiej Wloch, ktorej pilkarze prawie w calosci stanowili tez druzyne narodowa kraju. W wypadku, do ktorego doszlo o godzinie 17:03 zgineli wszyscy pasazerowie oraz czlonkowie zalogi - razem 31 osob. Dzis to tragiczne wydarzenie upamietnia pomnik z nazwiskami najwiekszych w owczesnych czasach pilkarzy oraz czlonkow zalogi.

Superga has also, unfortunately, a very sad story ... On May 4, 1949 at the rear of the temple crashed aircraft on board which was the whole football team of “Grande Torino” - the best football team in that period (the football players almost entirely made ​​up of the country's national team too). In the accident that occurred at 17:03 perished all passengers and crew members too - in total 31 people. Today, the monument commemorates that tragic event.
